Music Video:Filming Blog

Image
As of right now, I have not filmed yet. I'm still getting my production area together. The light system still needs to get set up. Still got to get the lyrics put together. I got to revise my lyrics. I have to clear out the room to make the clubhouse setting.  Once I get the clubhouse setting, the video is ready to take place. My outfits aren't put together yet. I want to make sure they're nice and thought out. My lyrics had to find a way to match the beat. It's hard making something about a specific topic and making it a whole minute long. Making a minute long song requires you to sit down. It really makes you think about what you are writing down. This song specifically is about the motivation. Also, about how "hate motivates. I thrive to produce the best video I can. This video will be great. They always say "quality or quantity" and in this case that is true. The better the video turns out, the less people are worried about how long it took for it to ...

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

Image
1.Lights start turning on. Creating a mood for the video. Lights start turning on and it shows off different colors. This makes the place energetic. Suddenly, a crowd enters the room. In a calm way not creating to much noise. Boom, the beat starts playing. Everyone is enjoying the beat and the energy it's producing. The artist then walks into the room. He does a simple dance and he starts shaking his head. Someone in the crowd recognizes the outstanding beat and states,"Do you hear that beat." They then start shaking their head. The artist then respond with "Watch this". He says after that "This is really how you turn nothing into something."  Which is, the name of the song. He starts rapping and he instantly goes good with the beat. The crowd starts making a little movement. This then leads to dancing. The lights start flickering from color to color. Everyone at this point is enjoying themselves and the rappers gradually goes through and finishes th...

Planning for my Music Video

To begin with, I'll call this song "Nothing to Something".  My main prop would be money. Some other less essential props would be a chair, a basketball, and others. Furthermore, for costumes I'll most likely wear two outfits. One outfit will consist of a jacket, pants, and shoes. The second one will consist of a basketball jersey and basketball shorts. The shoes will be included in both outfits   Schedule:On 11/16, I research conventions and codes of hip hop videos.                        11/17, I establish the props, costumes, schedule, location list, and backup plan.                         11/19, I will create the storyboard for the music video.                          11/30, I will film and record the shots i need for my music video.             ...

It must fit the characteristic of the genre.  There are many low-angled in videos. Also, close up shots in hip hop videos often appear. This is to imply the artists power over their audience. The low angle gives them the power, because they look down on the audience. The close up gives importance because it implies they’re important enough to have a frame to themselves.  In hip hop music videos, a crowd is usually shown dancing. They might also be shown bouncing their arms in time to the beat of the song. This makes them look as if they are actually dancing to the song. This implies that they like the song.  This shows to people that others like the song which will influence the audience to like the song.  There are lots of references to the wealth of the artist.  I n most hip hop videos there is often some link between the lyrics and the visuals. The visuals matching the lyrics are pretty simple. A n object in shot usually matches a lyric.   This is...

Music Intro Blog

In this music video, I do not plan on working with anyone. But one thing I can say is, I will be getting assistance from family. My mom is the person I can go to for that. I choose to work by myself because no one has the thought process that I do. I don't like the thought of having to run my ideas through others and getting their approval. Especially when I can complete something myself. Also, it's hard to get with people during times like this. I'm still trying to be socially distant from people. Furthermore, I will be using the son "0 to 100" by Drake. This song is literally inspirational. This song hypes me up it's like a motivational song for me. Every time before a major event, I listen to this song. And the beat is also fire. It's uptempo and it just gives off this vibe. Like you can't be stopped, unstoppable. I chose this song because i can use it in different ways. There's so many different things I can do to make this video. All differe...

CCR Questions

Name: _____Jumaine Forrest___________________ Creative Critical Reflection How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My Powerade commercial uses the conventions. Commercial Blog: Powerade Commercial

The fact that I was able to do what makes me happy and use a product that I drink a lot was so fun. It felt like I was in one of those commercials like the celebrities.  This commercial was very interesting.  From what i saw, it was a entertaining and pretty interesting concept. My favorite part was when I went up for the dunk. I felt like "Lebron James". My least favorite part though, would probably have to be the free throw. I missed that free throw about five times. I was not going to include misses into the video. After I made it, I was like thank lord. I felt like one of those people in the NBA who can't make a free throw to save their life. Then, it went in off the backboard. I felt like I just won a championship. Honestly, after that, I really did need some energy back. I felt so happy that the overall project turned out good tho.  If i was asked to make another one based off of something I enjoy I honestly wouldn't mind.  It was a good experience and I hope o...

Editing Blog

Image
Editing Blog    During the editing process, i had to do different things. It was not that easy. First, i was wondering how to input certain things. I had to find a way that would make the video look good.  First, since i don't have the best laptop, i had to do it on my phone.  To meet certain criteria i made sure certain parts were reduced. I had to insert a sound that would go good with the topic at hand. So i had to call up the N.B.A  and when I tell you it went perfect. Exactly what i asked for. The scenes at that point just started going together.  At first it was to long. But i found a little solution. Get the key part of every scene.  In some scenes, the whole scene was important so it was a little difficult. I had to do what i had to tho to reach the requirement. Surprisingly, after I previewed it, it actually wasn't that bad. It didn't look good tho, at first. Then boom, transitions. Once I added those, it was set. At the end, i needed so...

Filming Blog

Filming Blog   During the filming process, i thought out what I had to do. I had to take some to realize what i planned to produce for the product and i had to turn into real time. I had to ask my mother to record for me. I was honestly thinking "how can i pull this off?" Then my mom came and offered her help. From there it was a instant lightbulb that popped up. I told her what I had to do and she understood. The materials and surroundings that i had kind of made it hard but I still pulled it off somehow. I had to bring out some of my half-developed basketball skills out. At first, i was really trying to understand what i had to do. Then i gradually just did it. I told my mom where to stand and she comprehended. I noticed from this how big my backyard actually is.  The fact that I was able to do what makes me happy and use a product that I drink a lot was so fun. It felt like I was in one of those commercials like the celebrities. Just wished I could've got paid....
