CCR Reflection Sheet

 Creative Critical Reflection

  1. 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? In my music video, I used conventions that are commonly seen in hip- hop music videos. For example, I included a fan scene, a close up shots, bright lights, shades and more. These conventions help entertain the audience. My music video was based in a room that had flashing lights and it was supposed to give off a clubhouse vibe.  People love going to the club and enjoying themselves while hearing music. This music video is aimed to everyone who hates people for things they do. Everyone should do what they please and not let what anyone say stop them. I hope after watching this people realize you can turn a bad situation into a good one quick. People that like more powerful messages will understand.

    2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My music video engages with people because it gets people hyped up and motivated. Including the scene when I did the close up that scene may get people up and put that motivation in their mind.  My product could be distributed as a YouTube parody video. It can be a parody for the song 0 to 100 by Drake. I posted my video on YouTube which can be another way my video gets around and distributed to the public.

3.How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

My editing skills developed because I learned how to put music and scenes at specific points that improve the quality of the video. I also learned how to reduce certain takes and get the best part out of each clip. I learned how to input different angles and shots into video. Lastly, I learned how to match a pre-recorded song to a clip that was just shot. This really helped develop my productions skills and get an insight on how directors work.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I used my software to find good songs and other audio producing applications to make my music video even better. Online is where I came and found pictures to apply to the blogs and the product. I came online and found out the conventions that were needed to make a successful video. My software helped get rid of the choppiness that I originally had when making the video.  It also helped me replace unwanted noise with a new sound to make a better video. For example, my door made an awkward noise and the application that I use to help with the audio got rid of it by letting me exchange it with another sound.
